Broken WaSteLanD

I love the trading system that Wasteland and other losangeles based thrift stores offer. I take a pile of my old but goodies clothes and trade or get cash / check for them. Unfortunately my recent sell at Wasteland has but a dent in our relationship.

Last Sunday I went to Wasteland and traded my clothes and received a check that bounced.. blah. I was super pissed at first but then realized this shit happens.

So I went to my banker (Wells Fargo) to figure out how to avoid this situation from ever happening again.

I want to share this info with you so you don't receive a return check fee like i did.

Since Wasteland banks with Wells Fargo like myself, the next time i receive a check from them i will deposit it with a teller. Wells Fargo can then check right away to make sure the company has sufficient funds.

Now if you don't bank with Wells Fargo i am not sure what you would have to do, but to save yourself from a migraine i would ask your bank what is the best way to avoid a check from bouncing.

Chase the white rabbit

Everyday Productions presents CHASE THE WHITE RABBIT bike ride.

It is taking place Thursday night cost free.

It has become a new trend in losangeles to hop on your fixed gear and stroll around to local dive bars. Some find the bike packs slightly annoying since they block streets for a few minutes while the 100 some riders pass during a green light, but hey at least they are fighting obesity :)

losangeles isn't all about the haute Hollywood or the beautiful Beverly Hills crowd... there's also the trend-worthy thrifts too. From Buffalo Exchange to Goodwill, we can look like a million bucks - well, some do anyways. But now, there is another thrifty way of getting new clothes for FREE! It's called Swapping. Same concept as swapping clothes with your friends when you get tired of something... though now you have tons of other "friends" to swap with.  So if you have clothes that Buffalo or Crossroads didn't want, take it over to the closest clothes swap meet up near you! CLOTHESSWAP

Possibly the Best Fish Taco in Los Angeles...

Welcome to "Best Fish Taco in Ensenada"... Possibly the best damn fish taco in losangeles too!Located in Silverlake/Los Feliz area on Hillhurst Avenue and Camero Street.

The simplicity of this joint is so refreshing... Life is stressful as is, the last thing you want to do is read a damn novel for what should be a simple menu to eat from. So Voila, I present to you their awesome menu:

So when you get your order, it's just fish/shrimp and tortilla... you fill the rest at the condiment bar. Their selection of salsas are by Sessy's Salsa - the only comment I have on their salsa is that their hot needs to be HOTTER.

Bottom Line - The specialized fish/shrimp tacos are AMAZING... The fish is far better than the shrimp. But do try both.

Also had the pleasure of meeting Joseph and Elena (Helena?) seen above... Thanks again for the free taco vouchers!!! You guys will definitely be seeing me again =)

Recent art event TETRICIDE took place in Echo Park. Above was just some of the video game inspired art. Djs were using beats from Donkey Kong and Mario brothers.

Personally i liked it, but i am sure it isn't for everyone.

Lotus Festival 2010 - Echo Park

After a years hiatus, the Lotus Festival has returned for it's 32nd celebration.  Hosted at the children and furry companion-friendly Echo Park, the festival has a variety of ethnic food vendors, bartering, plant and critter sales, and the losangeles quintessential accessories -- all to the tune of live cultural music, dance, and performance art.

LA Food Trucks Wars

Move aside beloved bacon-wrapped hot dog street vendors, there's a new honcho in town. These new fighters are bringing out the big boy guns - with more variety and around the clock availability. You can find some stationed out on streets with make-shift eating areas while watching a flat screen T.V. on their trucks.I was on Sawtelle Boulevard yesterday for dinner and saw these three food trucks ready for action. I ended up getting a Korean Beef Burrito from Party Q'sadilla... YUM! Go follow them on twitter... just follow these hyperlink:
